With Deandre Ayton suffering an ankle injury two days ago, it's unlikely that he returns for the last few games of the season. I thought it would be interesting to share a couple of highlights from his historic rookie season.
    • With a 60.8% true-shooting percentage, Deandre Ayton ties Bill Cartwright for the most efficient rookie season ever for players scoring more than 15 a game. Source. The other members of the Top 10: Buck Williams, Magic Johnson, Adrian Dantley, David Robinson, Eric Gordon (!), Michael Jordan, Karl Towns, and Alonzo Mourning.
    • Ayton finishes the season averaging a double-double of 16.3 points and 10.3 rebounds. He is the most efficient rookie to ever average a double-double in a season. The top 10 are Ayton, Buck Williams, David Robinson, Karl Towns, Alonzo Mourning, Shaquille O'Neal, Tim Duncan, Dwight Howard, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Marques Johnson. Source.
This was put together by a poster on reddit - you can find the thread here: https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comment...2_rookies_who/
